Intelligence agencies have reportedly identified Saif-ullah Khalid, alias Saif-ullah Kasuri, a senior commander of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack. Reports say that the role of two LeT commanders based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, one of whom is Abu Musa, is also being investigated. Saif-ullah is the deputy chief of LeT and a close aide of Pakistani terrorist Hafiz Saeed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who returned from Saudi Arabia, held a briefing with the NSA, EAM and FS at the airport to discuss the situation in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. The attack took place at around 2:45 pm in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. 27 people have been killed and around 20 injured in the attack.
Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to all the martyrs in the attack in the morning. The Home Minister had reached Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night where he met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with top officials in Srinagar.
